Hi, I'm Chris Small, founder of The Lincoln Project and concept creator, co-writer & co-producer of War in Heaven, War on Earth, as well as your guide to this fascinating story. I'm really excited that you're about to see this unique documentary and learn about the intersection of the Civil War and the Adventist faith.

It all began for me some years back when I realized how interesting it would be to bring together two things I loved to study and share as a public speaker, teacher, & pastor.

For years, I gave first-person presentations as Abraham Lincoln, learning much about the 16th US President in the process. In addition, I enjoyed telling stories of faith from church history, even as far back as the early Christians and later, the Reformers and various missionaries and pioneers.

Why not bring these two interests together (both of which I still enjoy!), in the story of the early Adventists who just happened to be solidifying their faith during the years of Lincoln's presidency and the Civil War? Thus the concept for War in Heaven, War on Earth was born.
